Restore Your Bite With Dental Crowns in Jupiter

dental crowns in jupiter

A cracked tooth, a failing filling, or a tooth worn down from years of use are the kinds of problems that dental crowns in Jupiter are specifically designed to fix. At Jupiter Advanced Dentistry, we restore damaged teeth with crowns that are fitted precisely, built to last, and matched to blend with the rest of your mouth. If you’ve been told you need a crown, or if you’ve been putting off a tooth that’s been bothering you, here’s what you should know before your first visit.

What a Dental Crown Actually Does

A crown covers the entire visible surface of a tooth, from the gumline up. It protects what’s left of the natural tooth structure after decay, a fracture, or significant wear has compromised it. Crowns also restore full chewing function and, depending on the location of the tooth, contribute to how your smile looks overall.

We recommend crowns when a tooth can no longer be reliably repaired with a filling alone. That includes:

  • Teeth with large or recurring decay
  • Cracked or fractured teeth that are still intact but vulnerable
  • Severely worn teeth from grinding or acid erosion
  • Teeth that have been weakened structurally over time

The crown material we recommend will depend on where the tooth sits in your mouth and your specific functional needs. We walk through those options with you before any work begins, and you can explore more about our crown and bridge services if you’d like to review details in advance.

What to Expect During the Crown Process

Your First Appointment

We start with a focused exam of the affected tooth. Digital X-rays and an intraoral camera give us a precise picture of what’s happening below the surface and along the gumline. Once we’ve assessed the situation, we prepare the tooth by removing any damaged material and reshaping it to hold the crown securely.

From there, we take digital impressions rather than traditional putty molds, which means a faster, more accurate capture of your tooth’s dimensions. If your final crown is being fabricated off-site, we’ll fit you with a temporary crown that day so the tooth stays protected in the meantime.

Your Second Appointment

When the final crown is ready, we check the fit carefully before permanently cementing it in place. Shade, bite alignment, and margin fit all get reviewed. If anything needs a slight adjustment, we handle it before you leave.

Arrive a few minutes early for your first appointment so we can go over your medical history and confirm your preferences for the restoration. That conversation upfront helps us avoid surprises later.

Dental Crowns in Jupiter: Caring for Your Restoration

A crown isn’t a permanent pass on dental hygiene. It protects the underlying tooth, but the gumline around it still needs regular care.

  • Brush twice daily and floss once a day, sliding floss carefully along the gumline near the crown.
  • Avoid extremely hard foods, particularly in the first 24 hours after placement.
  • Use a non-abrasive toothpaste to avoid wearing down the crown surface over time.
  • If you grind your teeth at night, ask us about a nightguard to protect the restoration.

Regular checkups let us monitor the crown’s fit and the health of the surrounding tissue. Crowns don’t last forever, but with consistent care, most hold up well for many years.

When to Call Us Between Visits

Reach out if you notice persistent sensitivity that lingers more than a day or two after placement, a crown that feels loose or shifted, or a bite that feels uneven when you chew. These are usually quick fixes when caught early.

Dr. Elizabeth Bacha reviews each case personally and will give you a clear picture of what’s happening and what to do about it. Our team handles follow-up adjustments and can re-polish or re-seat a crown if needed.

I was looking to find a new dentist close by who took my insurance, and I found Jupiter Advanced! New patient here and I had a great experience at this office. I appreciated the friendly service from the front desk (I even called too many times about things lol) to the hygienist. Office is nice! The doctor, Dr. Elizabeth Bacha, knows her stuff and she correctly diagnosed a cavity forming and spreading under my old filling from a small fissure/cracked spot in my tooth. An Ortho and another dentist saw it previously and didn’t even mention that was happening. I always appreciate a correct diagnoses!! She listens to you uninterrupted and is happy to answer any and all questions. Very friendly as well. I like her. And although I wasn’t too happy to hear about my tooth :( lol I’m so happy I chose to go to her because I knew something was up with it!

I found, when I arrived, that my previous dentist was no longer practicing there. The new dentist was quick to make me feel comfortable. She explained a path of action to me which was comforting. The staff was friendly, especially my nurse, who I felt at ease with. All in all, a good experience .

Finally, I discovered that Jupiter Advanced Dentistry is the most exceptional dental practice. The staff and the doctor are exceptionally friendly, approachable, and have a warm demeanor. After the dental examination, the doctor personally visited me, demonstrating his genuine friendliness and compassion. Additionally, the interpreter was present to assist me, as I am deaf. I am thoroughly satisfied with my experience at this dental office.
